YLFF rules
How do I activate a park?
The participating national YLFF programs use roughly the same rules with some modifications on things like the
minimum time and minimum number of QSO's an activator must reach to have his activity count towards an activator
award. If you know beforehand that you are going to activate a park at a certain date and time ,you need to inform (3 days before the activation) Valery YL2SW Latvian Coordinator of the program. berge71@gmail.com
you and all the equipment you use need to be within the perimeters of the park
you must make a minimum number of QSO's (100) for your activity to count towards an activator award (activity is
always valid for chasers, regardless of the number of QSO's - so always send your log!)
you must activate the park for at least a certain amount of time (2h) for your activity to count towards an activator
award (activity is always valid for chasers, regardless of the number of QSO's - so always send your log!)
you can only work from one reference at a time - so if you are in a park that is a sub-region of a larger park you can
only use the reference of the sub-region
you cannot activate another park within 2 hours after the beginning of your previous activity and you cannot activate
more than 3 parks on one day (assuming you use one call sign)
How do people know I am in a YLFF location?
If you know beforehand that you are going to activate a park at a certain date and time ,you need to inform (3 days before the activation) Valery YL2SW (berge71@gmail.com)Latvian Coordinator of the program. He will post your activity on the WorldWide Flora and Fauna forum on Yahoo:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flora_fauna/
It helps to use the frequencies that are known as the Flora and Fauna frequencies:
o Phone: 3.744, 7.144, 14.244, 18.144, 21.244, 24.944, 28.444
o CW: 3.544, 7.024, 10.124, 14.044, 18.084, 21.044, 24.894, 28.044
When CQ-ing it is of course important to mention the park reference.
When people pick up your signal you are likely to be spotted on a cluster. That will really helps getting attention to
your activity.
